Well my honesty backfired and I have been told to moderate my tone so here goes…
Been an odd week – I have been asked to come out of retirement and play live again (again – I said no last time), I’m not sure this is a good idea – I can’t face rehearsals! I shudder thinking about those road journeys – forgetting where you have been or stayed. NOPE!

I love this music I have been listening toooooo.

Revolectronic Society™ – This week’s FAV

Basically this is a music collective, that in my humble opinion (I must be more humble and moderate my opinions because I have been accused of being arrogant and unprofessional) – Bollocks – I think this is one of the best ‘collaborations‘ out there, if not the best. ‘Save It’ is very, very solid and (without offending – you see I’m trying hard to be…) grown up – in an on the edge sort of way.

#Glass by Sue Martin – West Buckland Festival

“Fused glass is an ancient art form. My pieces are a result of the merging of shapes and colours, the interplay of light and shadow and the use of extreme temperatures within the kiln.”

During the West Buckland Festival ‘The Gallery’ exhibition will enable visitors to view and in some cases buy works of art by local Devon artists. ‘The Gallery’ will be in St Peter’s Church, West Buckland and will be open during the Festival period. The objects in this exhibition have been selected by members of the Festival Committee.

The aim of the ‘The Gallery’ exhibition is to enable and promote selected, amateur and professional artist living within the dispersed communities of North Devon and beyond. Past exhibitions have received critical acclaim and have been remarkably successful for artists and visitors. Diversity has been the success of these exhibitions, with entries ranging from textiles, painting, carving, printmaking and ceramics etc.

Ceramics by Mary Cunliffe – North Devon Arts

Smoke fired ceramics: The subtle tones on the ceramics are created by smoke firing. The stoneware clay is initially bisque fired to 980c. The colours and the organic finish is achieved by placing the ceramic piece within a reduction chamber in a combustible bed of hay, dry holly leaves, pine needles, eucalyptus bark, vine trimmings and shredded paper. It is then set alight, lid placed on and just left to burn and smoulder …..there is no control on the final result. Once cooled and cleaned it is then polished with natural beeswax.

CARE: It is not recommended to immerse the ceramic piece in water, wipe with a damp cloth and buff with a soft duster.
